A system for internal sealing of threaded joints on gas service risers. Specially designed for use in high-rise buildings.
Polyfill is a product based on latex polymers. After drying, the pipes are coated with a bonded rubbery film.
Polyfill is applied to repair capillary leaks in the threaded joints of steel service pipes in high-rise buildings, without dismantling the pipework.
- excellent resistance to hydrocarbons due to acrylonitrile chains in the product. This acrylonitrile also provides an excellent adhesion to teflon tape
- excellent wetting properties and has been designed so that it will get thinner when under pressure. This provides a good penetration into the thread of a screwed joint. After releasing the pressure, the Polyfill returns to its normal viscosity.
This tixotropic system has a viscosity designed to provide an easy drain down of excess sealant. The polymer is supplied in a water suspension. In this liquid state the latex particles are stable and separated, which ensures uncomplicated handling of the product.
The coating of Polyfill adhering to the pipe wall and inside the screw threads, dries very quickly.
