IMPROVED BROOM CLAMP BASED ON VALUE ENGINEERING
We continue to optimise our products because we want to maintain the high quality and user-friendliness of the products we develop in house. This is what our Research & Development department does based on the approach of value engineering, as it enables us to increase the value of our products. It is also why we have recently taken steps to improve our broom clamp.
Value engineering
Value engineering (VE) is a structured (re-)design methodology that focuses on increasing the value of a product or service. This value optimisation may lie in a reduction of the cost price, but it is of greater interest to increase the value of the product by adding functionalities at the same costs or removing excess functionalities. In other words, we are working with sales, purchasing, suppliers and customers to see whether our products still meet market requirements and whether production techniques, materials and designs are still satisfactory today.
BROOM CLAMP FOR LORRIES
On the basis of this value engineering methodology, we have examined our broom clamp for lorries and developed an improved version. The new broom clamp is significantly smaller, making it lighter in weight and allowing it to fit underneath a BE-combi. We have also simplified the design, making the broom clamp easier to operate and reducing production costs. All in all: a considerable value improvement.
