The Gatelock is a fine mechanical lock that needs maintenance just like your van. The maintenance tips below will help you avoid problems and enjoy your Gatelock van lock for as long as possible.
- During assembly, lubricate the bolts of your Gatelock security lock well with Vaseline.
- Clean the van lock on the outside regularly with a detergent (without abrasive) and lubricate it with WD40. Under no circumstances apply chemicals!
- Lubricate the moving parts of your Gatelock van lock at least once a month with the lubricant WD-40 and check its function.
- During the winter period (due to salt and brine), lubricate the moving parts weekly with WD-40 lubricant and check operation.
- Lubricate the cylinder at least once every six months with WD-40 lubricant.
- Check your Gatelock lock regularly for wear and tear. If necessary, replace the worn parts.
